New Gluon TestFlight beta
I'm happy to be shipping a new TestFlight beta for Gluon on iOS. To be honest, I didn't see myself working on this until I was ready with the base version of the official Micro.blog app on iOS, but here we are. But I am human, and it's one of those weeks where I feel like working on it... so here we are.
Now I did write about the "Future of Gluon" a few weeks ago, so please just double check there also so you understand what is coming. I understand that the Android version is somewhat behind already, so I will do my best to make that happen also.
Back to the TestFlight.
This is a minor release with no big features at all. Here is my summary:
- Timeline has an updated, but experimental, look to accommodate more text and slightly wider images.
- Profiles are now easier to navigate to by tapping the profile image or user’s name/handle.
- Open up the message permalink in the browser by tapping on the timestamp.
- Timeline marker sync is now enabled again after going missing in the last update — it doesn’t do anything yet, but will enable a few things down the line (a long line).
- Image uploads are now uploaded at 100% width, height and quality. Previously they were scaled.
- Links to plugins or books should now work as intended (note that you need to be logged in on the web version to make this work).
- Blog posts with images included in the title, now show correctly. No more big, single line preview images. See screenshots below.

This version is available to all testers on the "fast track" and "slow track". Details on getting on the "slow track" can be found here.
Enjoy, and let me know any feedback you might have.
