Have added Micro Camp info to Gluon. Wish I could have implemented it in a way that allows for a bit more free text… but, just follow the link to go to the site.

Planning a smaller release for Gluon on iOS in the coming month. Just a little tidy up here and there. No new features.

Also would love to add a "be kind" condition of use for the app, going beyond the Micro.blog guidelines.

Most important is documentation though.

New Gluon beta release for Android. 2021.2 Build 46.

There is a new beta release for Gluon on Android. It’s 2021.2 Build 46. It’s propagating on the Play Store at the moment. If you noticed, there was also build 45 which came out earlier this week.

Release notes:

  • Tweaked settings screen, just like on iOS.
  • More Nitpicky settings, for example showing pinned topic names alongside the emoji. Check it out.
  • Better image handling in the composer window (only work with camera roll at the moment).
  • More accents to choose from. Including Will’s pink.
  • The reply screen now shows which account you are replying from.
  • Feed items now show if there is a conversation within. You’ll notice the convo icon turn orange if people are talking. If not, it’s just grey so you could maybe start a conversation…
  • Ads/Promoted content can now be turned off forever, no matter if you are a supporter or not.
  • Profile pages now highlight links in the Bio of the user… they’re tappable so you can navigate to them.
  • And probably more that I forgot about.

A few more bits for me to do, but hoping to release this soon.

Enjoy it, and give it a go. It’s available as a open beta test so feel free to test it and let me know any feedback.

Making a start on the next Android version of Gluon 🥳

I’m going to start blogging about the new version of Gluon soon again. It’ll be like day one of the project. Excited to get started.

A few weeks ago I announced that I will be trying out Discord for Gluon. It’s been fun, but it’s not for me. Thank you to everyone that joined in. It’s nothing personal! I prefer the way it was before and just looking at keeping it all cozy and central to email and direct feedback.

Whilst I did love the feedback loop and conversations, it just distributed how I work a little bit too much for my comfort. I also didn’t want to branch off to yet another avenue of support and mainly presence. At the end of the day my blog, and the app, is my presence and that’s how I like it.

I’ll be removing the server next week.

The new Micro.blog Pens category is now live in Gluon 🥳🖋

I have just released version 2021.2 of Gluon for iOS. Release notes are here. As usual, I want to thank every single one of you that keeps supporting me ✌️❤️

The Empire has approved the new iOS update for Gluon. Will release soon ✌️

Gluon, for iOS, version 2021.2 has been submitted for review ✌️I managed to do all of the screenshots… the original ones were way out of date.

Finally making progress with writing release notes for the new iOS Gluon release. Also making a new set of screenshots for the App Store listing.

Hope to release the latest version of Gluon, for iOS, next week at some stage. Of course it’ll have to be approved by the developer hugging and loving Apple.

It’ll mean some updates to the website also… here goes.
